WOODWORKING TECHNOLOGIES: 2020 ITALIAN EXPORT CLOSES AT -15,8%

The finals 2020 data for Italian exports of woodworking machinery were disclosed by ISTAT and subsequently processed by the Acimall studies office. The total value of exported machines reached 1,270 million euros; the percentage drop, compared to 2019, is 15.8 points. The year 2020, while closing negatively, nevertheless gave slight signs of recovery, especially starting from the last quarter of the year.

The United States is confirmed as the first client country for our manufacturers, with 144 million euros of machines purchased, followed by France with 106 million, Germany with 96. All the countries mentioned, however, recorded a decrease compared to 2019, while exports to China grew further, closing at 75 million euros and a growth of 19 percentage points.
